The words we use are very important. One word I don’t like – it almost makes me cringe – is “employee.” I think Dave Ramsey might have brainwashed me to not like this.  I know I have talked about this before and I think it is important to touch on again.

  • An Employee works FOR someone. A Teammate works WITH someone.

The goal is for us to be, and stay, a “WITH” organization not a “FOR” organization. Any success of this organization stems from us all working together.

Thought #2:
Have you ever walked by a piece of trash and had the nudge to pick it up – but just acted like you didn’t see it? Or maybe heard someone talking to you – but acted like you couldn’t hear them? Or how about saw your spouse folding laundry and walked past them instead of helping fold the rest of the hamper? I have…all three. Any time we decide to go against that nudge of ‘the right thing to do, and take the easier route, we betray ourselves. We go against ourselves. I would hope working with, or being around, our company and what we stand for, would help us all make sure we do more of those ‘right’ things in our lives. Self-betrayal leads to a life of less-than and frustrations. We can actually unlock more freedom in our minds and lives by choosing to act on those nudges. We are people, not of just thoughts, ideas, or plans…but of action. Massive action.
