You Choose Your State. We can control an immeasurable amount of things in our life, and the things we can control, such as how we react to the events in our life, we give little practice or attention too. If you can find the consciousness to see your emotions, and thoughts as things, and not identify with them – then you can have freedom. It is practice. Being a practice means you have to work at it, and if you do – you might start to live fuller, more alive, and be able to serve others in a whole new way.
Heard. Watched. Read.
- Derek Sivers shares his insight on parenting and what he is learning from being a parent. A quick read. Being a parent for me has been a blessing in growth and love.
- Amelia Boone, one of the most successful obstacle course races share vulnerable insight on following her real passion rather than just saying ‘Yes’ to things she is ‘suppose’ to do.
- The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. For me, this has been a life-changing book that has taught me about my conscious state. Several teachings have opened my eyes to things that will positively impact me and those around me. A recommended read for finding the inner you, over the reactive you. My favorite chapter includes the choice to be happy, not on any other terms than your choosing.
“Be clearheaded. Keep alert. Your accuser, the devil, is on the prowl like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. Do so in the knowledge that your fellow believers are enduring the same suffering throughout the world.” 1 Peter 5:8-9
